''Untrained assistans?''

I was wondering about the untrained assistans that are working in kindergartens, here in Denmark. Maybe is not that bad for the children because they come into contact with people who are more familiar than the teachers, but how are we so confident that they have the necessary skills to come into contact with such a vulnerable age without having the elementary education?
